I got this set a year ago and am so happy with it because I am not a nail polish girl- I cook and work with my hands too much so I have always liked my nails natural for practical and aesthetic reasons. But this kit makes my hands and nails look great, while natural. I love the polished look of my nails after they are buffed. The nail file is better than any cheap old thing you'd get at the drugstore- it is super effective.

I read about Bare Hands in the comments at Cup of Jo (blog). The poster said she doesn't like nail polish, but she does like shiny buffed nails, and then mentioned the Bare Hands kit. I feel the same (hate nail polish, love "manicured" nails--shiny, with cuticles pushed into place) , so I had to check this out.
What I love: the glass nail file and buff. Both do a great job. The oils (2 come with) feel great.
What I don't love: the cuticle oil pen is single use (can't be refilled), and I am not sure it is recyclable. But it is vegan, which is important to me. And then, I wish the glass buff had "buff" material on all sides and along the edges, to maximize its longevity--the buffing material makes it non-recyclable.
I like to support small businesses, and this purchase felt good for this reason. We all make choices everyday about how our purchases impact the environment--I will repurchase the buff b/c I can tell it is going to last a long time, but I won't repurchase the cuticle oil pen.

On the cuticle oil front, we will be releasing a thicker castor-based oil that is perfect for a refillable rollerball application. Stay tuned for early 2025!
