The Bare Hands Gift Set

I have experimented with so many things naturally to take care of my nails at home and make them look great for decades. I love shiny, well trimmed neat nails even though I'm a gardener that loves to get my hands dirty in soil! This kit has provided me with a dream come true. I quickly and easily care for my nails now every week and they look amazing. Thank you Bare Hands! I'm ordering more citrine oil today!

A couple things to the Bare Hands maestros:

1. I would love it if the Citrine cuticle oil pen was a REFILLABLE one that way I can minimize plastic use. I could just refill it by ordering the Citrine cuticle oil from you in the ounce bottle.

2. I didn't get the Czech glass file in the Bare Hands Gift set when it arrived....maybe you just added it in the kit after I had placed my order. If so, I would love to have the option to buy the single Czech glass file to give me a complete set.

I have always had a compulsion to pick my cuticles due to OCD/anxiety and it sucks! My nails never heal now because I just have an anxious day and all progress is out the window.

Then, I’m always tempted to go crazy with the cuticle clippers when I decide enough is enough with picking… the cycle continues because I over-clip and either injure the cuticle or make it worse somehow, lol. Literally EVERY TIME.

I didn’t know how to move forward with the cycle endlessly repeating and have tried to be more conscious about it but I still want my nails to look better so I am more inclined to keep them up.

This was PERFECT! Sitting down to start with a homemade coconut oil/sugar scrub was amazing, and the polishing of it all and the dead skin sloughing off was very satisfying (didn’t hurt at all). I wasn’t tempted to overdo it because you can see it and feel it GENTLY working. It is luxurious, as they say. FINALLY the nail oil pen is a godsend, maybe it’s been done before and I don’t know anything about that, but this oil smells great and solves the problem I typically have of using a shitty nail polish applicator and getting oil everywhere, and only able to do that when I am about to go to bed. With the pen, it absorbs and I can do it on the go which is when I typically need it in emergency situations throughout the day.

It’s so refreshing to see a company that caters toward those who prefer a natural nail manicure. This is a great alternative for people like me, who can’t stand the sight or feel of clear polish once it begins to chip. I got this as a gift from a friend, and here are my thoughts after 6 months:

What I love:

• The forêt oil is /divine/. I would bathe in it if I could. I so wish they would sell it individually.

• The glass file is perfect and well-weighted so it’s easy to use. I can tell this baby will outlast me.

• The packaging overall is wonderful. I can tell a lot of thought went into the kit and the carrying case.

What I disliked:

• I so, so, so wish that the buffing material covered the entire one side. Having it only at the curved edge seems like a lost opportunity; that flat edge would’ve been perfect for getting around my cuticles. I found this part of the experience very frustrating.

• The shape is difficult to work along the sides of the nail. I think folks who get on best with this tool will probably have flatter nail beds, though I think this could also be helped by extending the buffing material.

Overall, it’s really like a 3.5 out of 5. I’ve yet to see any product that creates a shiny buff like this, but I think the product has room to grow. Wonderful company, love their ethos, love the intention.

I saw ads for this manicure kit on social media and I was intrigued. As someone who loves to cook and garden, and generally has an active lifestyle, I’ve lost interest in using nail polish on my hands over the years as it chips too easily and just isn’t practical to maintain. Instead I mostly opt for bare nails, but keeping them shiny and tidy outside of the salon has proven difficult. This kit is a game changer! After watching the tutorial video and spending 10 glorious minutes by myself taking care of my nails, they look like they’ve had a professional manicure! I already ordered a refill of the cuticle oil to keep in my purse and my office, and am ordering a few of the kits to have on hand as go-to hostess gifts.
