A clean, polish-free take on the classic French tip.
The Details
The Bare French Manicure is a subtle take on a classic—designed for when you want your nails to look a little more polished, without committing to polish.
Instead of paint, this kit uses a simple whitening pencil to gently brighten the tips of your nails, enhancing what’s already there. The effect is clean, understated, and quietly refined.
A softer approach to the French
Rather than covering the nail, the Bare French is about definition and balance. It adds a touch of white to the tips to create contrast, while keeping the rest of the nail natural and healthy.
It’s an easy way to elevate your everyday look—or add a little extra polish for occasions—without chemicals, upkeep, or salon visits. Thoughtful, minimal, and made to fit seamlessly into a natural nail routine.
What's In The Kit
- The Dry Gloss Manicure Essentials: Includes our signature Glass Polisher, Citrine Cuticle Oil Pen, wooden pusher sticks, a fabric chamois and vegan leather case.
- The Whitening Pencil: A water-based manicure pencil designed to brighten and define the free edge from beneath the nail for a subtle, semi-permanent pop of white.
- The Czech Crystal Nail File: A precision tool for shaping and sealing the nail edge so they are less prone to breakage.
- The Vegan Pouch: A sleek black pouch with a waxed drawstring to keep your tools curated and portable.
How To Use
Achieve a professional, polish-free finish with these simple steps:
- Prep: Wash your hands thoroughly to start with lotion-free, dry nails. Use the wooden sticks to gently refine the cuticle line, and the nail file to shape your nails to your preferred length.
- Define: Lightly dampen the tip of the whitening pencil. Run it under the free edge of the nail using gentle strokes until the underside is evenly brightened. This creates the "pop" of a French tip from the inside out. Wipe off any excess using a paper towel.
- Shine: Use the Polisher across the nail plate in short, firm strokes. A natural shine will emerge instantly.
- Nourish: Apply a thin coat of the Citrine cuticle oil to the nail bed and massage into the skin. This adds a final layer of resilient moisture.

Q + A
How long do your nails stay white?
Since the pencil is water soluble, this varies based on how many times you wash your hands and how "powerful" your soap is. 3 days is the average. The perfect time to add this effect is before a night-time event. Since there's no dry time, you can do your Bare French just before you dash out the door!
What length nails are best for this look?
You'll need some white showing on your free edge to be able to get the pencil under the nail. That said, we really love this for shorter nails. Make sure you shape them exactly the same length to get an extra polished look.
Is this safe for moms with babies and food professionals?
The white pencil should not be ingested, so it's best to remove it before this kind of sensitive contact. Use the wooden pushers in the Dry Gloss Kit to remove the pencil.
